Equality Objectives
We strive to maintain a psychologically safe and nurturing environment for everyone who works and visits here. Equality at Cotmanhay Junior School means identifying and removing barriers where they exist, and enabling all people to participate, to feel capable and to feel valued.
Cotmanhay Junior School will not tolerate discrimination in any form. We teach pupils about the protected characteristics using Picture News, Jigsaw PSHE lessons and through whole school assemblies and events. The protected characteristics are:
We are committed to providing equity of opportunity for our pupils and taking action where it is needed to challenge inequality. Our equality objectives focus on key areas for three years. We are currently consulting pupils, parents, carers and staff to form new objectives for September 2024.
