We aim to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, stimulating creativity and firing the imagination. It enables children to communicate what they see, feel and think through using different materials and processes, providing a context for risk taking, experimentation, invention, self-expression and problem solving. The act of investigating and making, equips pupils with a variety of skills and allows them to improve their ability to control materials, tools and techniques.
“Art is not just a subject to learn, but an activity that you can practise with your hands, your eyes, your whole personality.” Quentin Blake
A range of open-ended activities provide children with opportunities to explore developing an enjoyment and appreciation for artists, craftspeople and designers from different cultures. Children are encouraged to be resilient, selecting and evaluating their own ideas to use in their two and three dimensional work.
