Safeguarding documents

The following safeguarding documents are very important. The help us to make sure all our children are safe. If you would like a paper copy of them, just let someone in the office know. If you would like to talk about anything in any of these documents, please make an appointment with a member of the safeguarding team - Mr Robinson, Mrs Atkins, Mrs Bower, Mrs Stevenson and Miss McLaughlin.

If you are a child and you have a problem you want to talk about, please tell an adult and we will help you.

Cotmanhay Junior School Safeguarding Policy - 2018

Domestic Abuse

Derbyshire Police will send us a notification of every incident of domestic abuse that has been reported to them where one of our children is either directly or indirectly involved. This will help us formulate a coordinated response to such incidents. School will support children and their families exposed to  domestic abuse. This may mean:

  • talking to pupils about their experiences
  • raising awareness through classroom discussion and school activities
  • helping victims and families by signposting  important information.

Cotmanhay Junior School is committed to protecting children and young people and working with partners to stop domestic abuse.
